Our 5 day trip to Istanbul was a huge success - no doubt partly due to our choice of hotel with Yilsam Sultanahmet. Perfect location: 2 minutes walk to the Blue Mosque and hippodrome; 5 minutes walk to Hagia Sofia, Basilica Cistern and the main tram line in one direction, and 20 minutes walk to the Grand Bazaar, spice market and ferries at Eminönü in the other direction. Despite our guide book being quite snooty about the area for evening options we had some really nice inexpensive dinners near the hotel too. The hotel itself was clean and very comfortable and the staff - from cleaners to bell boys could not have been friendlier. We paid a bit more for a room with the lovely view from French windows over the Sea of Marmara: the breakfast room on the 3rd floor shared the same view. The breakfast was exceptional with a huge range of cold cuts, cheeses, dips, cheeses olives, breads and baked treats, plus a small selection of 4 or 5 hot dishes which I seldom bothered with as the cold food was so delicious tho my husband enjoyed them. An external same day laundry service is available via the hotel - you need to pay in cash. Our flight got in at dawn and we arrived at the hotel at about 7am. We were sent up for breakfast and told a room would be ready for us at 10am, which we hadn’t expected. One evening we went to the empty breakfast room to watch something on our screens, and someone was face timing up there and the porter arrived with tea for all 3 of us with the compliments of the manager. These were the sort of welcoming touches we received from people at the hotel. Just lovely people - thank you to you all for such a wonderful stay. A fantastic hotel😘

On arrival we received an upgrade to a smaller room with spectacular view. The desk manager was happy to give us a second armchair when I requested it. As older tourists we wanted to relax in the evening. Turkish breakfast was large and plentiful —lots of yoghurt and vegetables. Scrambled eggs the best I’ve ever encountered on a buffet. Good selection of breads and cake. The staff was helpful at every turn. Very welcoming. Hotel Location just 2 blocks from Sultanahmet Square aka the Hippodrome. Very easy walking to sights. Many restaurants one street over from the hotel. Street is quiet at night.

Where to start...amazing staff, so very accommodating. Rooms on a smaller side, yet very comfortable, functional bathrooms. The location is literally minutes away from Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. Our family had 3 rooms on the bottom floor with access to an amazing backyard with some seating space, beautiful flowers, plenty of privacy and, most importantly, few cats with their kittens to keep us company. Great view on Bosphorus from lobby and breakfast restaurant. Our breakfast every day was similar, yet had plenty of options to choose from. Peaceful spot in a very busy city.

The hotel has an excellent location, a five-minute walk fom the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. Also close to the Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern and Gülhane park. Many shops and restaurants can be found in the area. The tram stop is also a few minutes walk, which gives access to many other destinations. The breakfast was delicious. During breakfast we had an excellent view of the sea and a nearby mosque. We recommend the airport transfer service provided by the hotel, which facilitated the access to the city.

The hotel is perfectly located for exploring Istanbul. The staff is very nice and helpful. The rooms with view on the sea are very nice as you can experience an amazing sunset if you have room on that side. It is a min away from many restaurants and cafes and 5 mins walk to the Blue Mosque. The breakfast is very good and breakfast area has amazing views. The rooms are very nice and clean. We absolutely loved our stay and would like to come back. Thank you to the amazing staff for making our stay memorable.
